ORIGINAL TITLE: Les sols fossiles des périodes interstadiaires du Würm supérieur (Paudorf? Allerod) aux environs de Łódź
In the Łódź region, four fossil soils of different ages were identified. The oldest palaeosol originates from the Eemian, whereas younger soils correspond to the Brorup, Paudorf and Allerød interstadials. Stratigraphic and palaeobotanical studies revealed diverse soil genesis, including gleyed brown soils and podzolic rankers developed on aeolian and glaciofluvial deposits. Soil profile analyses highlighted processes of gleying, podzolisation and frost-related structures. Stratigraphic and palaeobotanical data also allowed reconstruction of climatic and vegetation changes. These results are significant for palaeo-environmental reconstruction of central Poland and for comparison with Usselo formations in Northern Europe.
