ORIGINAL TITLE: Remarques sur l’étagement des processus morphogénétiques dans les Carpates au cours de la dernière glaciation
The author discusses the issue of altitudinal zonation of morphogenetic processes in the Polish Carpathians during the last glaciation. Based on the analysis of slope deposits, fossil flora sites and contemporary climatic zonation, a graphical model of oscillations of climate-floristic and geomorphological belts is presented. The paper emphasises the vertical variability of periglacial forms, slope covers and valley development as determined by shifts in the forest line and the perennial snow limit. This approach helps to better understand the variability of landforms and deposits in the Carpathians, including differences in thickness, maturity and complexity. The study highlights the significance of morphoclimatic oscillations for the interpretation of mountain relief during the Pleistocene.
