Zjawiska peryglacjalne, takie jak struktury szczelin mrozowych, krioturbacje oraz horyzonty kamieniste, w obrębie osadów późnego plejstocenu wykazują taką jednorodność wyglądu i częstotliwość, że stanowią istotne punkty odniesienia stratygraficznego.
W niniejszym artykule opisano zjawiska peryglacjalne wykorzystywane jako punkty odniesienia, krótko omówiono ich genezę oraz precyzyjnie określono ich pozycję stratygraficzną.
