Gleby regionów polarnych Ameryki Północnej

Dla celów gleboznawczych region polarny Ameryki Północnej dzieli się na strefę gleb pustynnych polarnych, strefę gleb pustynnych subpolarnych i strefę gleb tundry. Strefa gleb pustynnych polarnych koncentruje się wokół Wysp Królowej Elżbiety, a mianowicie: Melville, Wyspy Księcia Patryka, Bathurst, Devon, Elif Rignes i Ellesmere, a także na wolnych od lodu obszarach północnej Grenlandii. Strefa gleb pustynnych subpolarnych koncentruje się wokół Dystryktu Franklin i obejmuje głównie Wyspy Banksa, Wiktorii, Księcia Walii i Somerseta, północną Wyspę Baffina i otaczające ją obszary, w tym części przybrzeżnej Grenlandii. Strefa gleb tundry obejmuje północną Alaskę, północną część Terytorium Jukonu, Dystrykt MacKenzie, Dystrykt Keewatin, południową Wyspę Baffina i południową Grenlandię.
