The paper presents the complex method (set of 20 different methods) for describing basic profiles of Neogene-Pleistocene deposits. The method is used by the staff of the Department of General Physical Geography and Paleogeography of the Moscow State University from the sixties. Author encourages the wide use of the method, which can help to avoid incomparable results and unnecessary scientific discussions. He argues that the method is very efficient and relatively cheap, compared with incoordinate investigations being carried out by different groups of workers for several years. Results for four different Siberian profiles analyzed by the complex method are presented: Mamontova Gora, Rostov Yaroslavsky, Priazove i Issyk-Kul.
