ORIGINAL TITLE: Compte rendu du Symposium »Périglaciaire et paléogéographie du Quaternaire« Belgique - Pays-Bas 1978
An international symposium on fossil periglacial features was held in Belgium and the Netherlands from September 17 to 28, 1978. The event was a joint meeting of the Periglacial Research Coordination Committee of the International Geographical Union (IGU) and the INQUA Commission on the Quaternary Paleogeographic Atlas. The primary objectives were to discuss the palaeoclimatic significance of known fossil periglacial phenomena and to establish a legend for mapping the extent of permafrost during the last glaciation. A total of 45 researchers from 15 countries participated.
