Abstract

The Government Population Council in Poland in its publications draws attention to the problem of the aging of Polish society and its residential context. The Recommendations for Long-term Senior Policy in Poland for 2014-2020 are very general, and it is necessary to gather detailed data on the needs and attitudes of the elderly. Previous publications of Polish authors indicate that the needs of the elderly in terms of architectural and purely technical aspects of their housing have already been widely described and knowledge about them disseminated. There is a lack of economic and social solutions, and knowledge about these needs is lacking. Therefore, the aim of the article is to present the solutions used in the study of seniors' housing attitudes based on the example of Australia. They are worth analyzing and disseminating in Poland – mainly due to their economic value (fiscal instruments, subsidies for seniors enabling liquidity increase in the real estate market of large apartments). They were cited along with recommendations for Polish researchers.
