Call for Papers 2026
The Editors of Dissertations of the Language Committee of the Łódź Scientific Society invite submissions for Volume 74, to be published in 2026.
The theme of the volume is: Languages and Language Varieties in the Face of Transformations in the Contemporary World.
This theme is intended to be approached broadly. Submitted articles may address, among others, the following research areas:

classifications of language varieties

the status of language varieties, past and present
-
terminology relating to language varieties, past and present
-
the evolution of territorial and social varieties of language
-
dialect and language: discussions, determinants, conclusions
-
systemic and lexical changes in Polish and Slavic dialects in the 21st century
-
regional varieties and regionalisms in contemporary Polish
-
variation in contemporary Polish as well as in other Slavic and non-Slavic languages
-
bilingualism and diglossia: theoretical and empirical perspectives
-
representations of linguistic diversity in literary and artistic texts
Dissertations of the Language Committee of the Łódź Scientific Society is an annual journal published since 1954 and devoted to linguistic research. The journal is peer-reviewed and published in open access (ISSN 0076-0390; e-ISSN 2450-9310). Its scope encompasses a wide range of linguistic subdisciplines. The articles published in the journal are both theoretical-methodological and empirical in character. In addition to contributions in Polish studies, Dissertations... also publishes work in Slavic and modern language studies. Articles are published in Polish, other Slavic languages, as well as in major congress languages.

Submission deadline: by 31 April 2026.
Planned publication date: December 2026.

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the editorial guidelines adopted by Dissertations... (available in the attachment and on the journal website: http://journals.ltn.lodz.pl/Rozprawy-Komisji-Jezykowej)

Only original contributions not previously published elsewhere will be considered.

Scholarly articles are reviewed by independent reviewers: linguists and specialists in the relevant field. The review process follows the principle of double anonymity (anonymity of both the author and the reviewer).

A text may be accepted for publication on the basis of two positive reviews.

Articles are assigned a DOI.
