Additional Notes on Patterned Ground in Iceland with a Particular Reference to Ice-Wedge Polygons

The paper provides an overview of patterned ground types in Iceland with special attention to ice-wedge polygons. The author describes their occurrence across various geomorphological and lithological environments, from low coastal plains to basalt plateaus. It was found that ice-wedge polygons occur both in glacial and fluvioglacial deposits and in loess covers, with the limit of their occurrence depending on the height above sea level. The author suggests that some types of polygons may have been created in less harsh climatic conditions than previously thought.
