Periglacial deformations of bear long bones

Abstract

In 1934, the author found a deformed bear bone on Torell Land. The bone's bending and cracking were caused by differences in the conditions of its buried and exposed parts. This example demonstrates the potential for long bone fractures in periglacial climates.
