Abstract

Article in French.

ORGINAL TITLE : Les phénomènes périglaciaires et leur reépartition

Periglacial phenomena appear in such continental areas which for a long period are submitted to the influence of the Arctic and Antarctic air masses. In Europe the periglacial processes spread far south- and westwards during the cold Pleistocene periods, reaching the Black Sea, the Carpathians, the Alps and in any case the Netherlands. On the plains of the Southern Hemisphere the periglacial phenomena were confined to the Antarctic continent.
