ORIGINAL TITLE: Le loess et les formations loessoïdes
The article discusses the issue of so-called “loessic clays” and loess-like deposits occurring mainly in the foreland of the Sudetes. Based on granulometric analyses and field observations, it was found that these are heterogeneous silt-clay deposits, often with admixtures of sand and gravel, with a genesis different from that of typical loess. The authors indicate that these deposits are the product of redeposition of loess and clay material under the humid climate conditions of the Late Pleistocene.
