Abstract

A study was conducted on the role of thermal conditions in the formation of cryogenic structures. A direct relationship was demonstrated between the structure and temperature gradients, which are among the most critical factors determining the physical nature of the moisture redistribution process during freezing. Winter temperature gradients, which reflect the conditions of freezing and condensation, define the thermal environment during the formation of cryogenic structures more unambiguously than mean annual temperatures.
