W pracy omówiono powstanie suchych dolin na kredowych zboczach południowo-wschodniej Anglii, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Devil's Kneadingtrough w Kent. Badania wskazują, że doliny te uformowały się głównie w młodszym dryasie w wyniku erozji niveo-fluwialnej. Kluczowe znaczenie miały zmienne warunki klimatyczne: wysoka wilgotność i częste zamarzanie i rozmarzanie gruntu
