Bloki płużące na zboczach wzgórz w rejonie Drumochter w Grampians są aktywne w obecnych warunkach klimatycznych. Badania siedmiu bloków przeprowadzone w latach 1978-1980 wykazały, że ich roczne ruchy, w zakresie od 0,1 do 0,8 mm, są w dużej mierze kontrolowane przez łączny wpływ wysokości, nachylenia stoku i letniego uwilgocenia.
